The Master Never Wastes a Single Process

The finished work is already in The Masters Hands.
The finished work is already in The Masters Hands.

There are moments when following Gods direction can feel absolutely frightening-even foolish. We may not understand why He is removing something from our lives, adding things unexpectedly, or allowing a process to take way longer than we expected or hoped. But the Master sees the finished work before He even begins.

A guitar does not become an instrument without surrendering to the process. Material must be removed, sometimes in what seems to be a brutal or (what may seem to be) a destructive process. At other times, the process may seem to be taking forever. But in the hands of the Master, every step has a purpose.

Our lives are no different. God knows the end from the beginning, from raw material to finished instrument and all points in between. He is no stranger to our trials, no stranger to our pain.

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do Ephesians 2:10

The material does not always understand the hands that are shaping it.

To become the instrument, the process must be followed. To put a high gloss finish on a piece of raw material would be foolish and wasteful. To attempt to put hardware and strings on a log would be a fool's errand. We must trust that God knows exactly what He is doing. We must remain yielded to the Masters Hands.

The Master never wastes a single process.

In my shop, removing material is just as important as the final coat of lacquer. A cut can look destructive until you understand what is being created. The same is true in our lives. What feels like loss may be shaping us for a purpose we cannot see.

So when the process feels uncomfortable, unfinished, or even downright painful, do not judge the work before the Master is finished. The piece on the bench cannot see the blueprint, but the Master can.

Looking unto Christ Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...

Hebrews 12:2

Stay in His hands, trust the Master. He knows the end from the beginning
